Like father, not like son.

Tom Brady learned the challenges of parenting sometimes include finding out your child doesn’t like the things you do.

In a new interview with Men’s Health, the New England Patriots quarterback got candid about dealing with the news that his nine-year-old son Benjamin wasn’t into football.

“I was like, ‘C’mon, let’s do this.’ And he was like, ‘Nope.’ And I was like, ‘What? No, do this!,’” the six-time Super Bowl winner recounted to the magazine.

But it was Brady’s supermodel wife Gisele Bündchen who made him realize not everyone is into football.

“And Gisele kept saying to me, ‘Would you effing understand that your son is different?,’” Brady continued. “It was hard for me. I was like, ‘What do you mean? He’s a boy; he should do all these things that I do.’”

Despite their differences, the NFL star has found other ways to bond with his younger son.

He added, “The reality is that Benny just likes different things. And it’s great because now I just have to go do what he wants to do.”

In the same interview, Brady goes on to rave about his Brazilian wife of ten years and her nontraditional upbringing in the modeling world.

“She left home when she was 14; she lived in Japan at 16 in an era with no cell phones. She lived in New York at 17 without speaking English,” the loving husband said.

“In her mind, there are no boundaries. ‘Why can't you do that? Why do you have to go to school? Why can't you just leave and live in a different country?’ In her reality, you can.”
